Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson two lawyers. When she was just five and moved to Oxfordshire and went to her first Dragon School. Emma was six years old at the time she decided to make it as an actress. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. By the age of ten she was performing and taking the lead in various Stagecoach performances and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been chosen for these roles. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film broke all records in terms of the opening weekend and numbers, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. It was highly praised by people who have read it, along with the performances of its three new stars. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British publication, gave Emma high marks for her outstanding performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for the Feature Film. She was later nominated for five awards for her work in the film.
